Zurstrassen credits his inspiration to a love for art and the cultural consciousness he nurtured during his travels to the far-east. From Earth to Soul, Gonzague lives in Bangkok where he crafts jewelry entirely by hand, fashioning rich and organic collections, combining different materials like gold with silver and brass, big bold colored gemstones and diamonds to unearth the finest elements of nature and harmony. The "Gzurstrassen Collection" is unmistakably bold, with huge primary gemstones - blue opals, fanta color spessartites, lemon green quartz and other larger-than-life gems, rising up from a sea of semi-precious and precious stones, conjuring passion and spirit from lifeblood of femininity and romance. Zurstrassen's instinct for art in its true form has been balanced by the challenges and desires that the jewelry industry present. After graduating from The Hoge Raad voor Diamant (HRD) in Antwerp as a certified gemologist in 1996, he emerged as an independent diamond broker in Antwerp. Seeking a more creative platform he joined The Mouawad Group in Geneva before holding the reigns to their Asian operation in 2002. Zurstrassen has used Bangkok as a design-base since then, gaining continued appreciation and acclaim from his design peers throughout the region, Europe and America.
